About Us
This photobank is a project of Chochmat Nashim, an organization of religious women who advocate for a healthier Jewish community where women are seen and heard. The photos in this bank are of real Orthodox women and families who dedicated their time and faces to combat the erasure of women sweeping the Orthodox world.
The erasure of images of women has taken over the Orthodox world. This erasure has detrimental effects on the entire community, most significantly on women’s health, financial and religious rights.
An effort by the community for the community
So wide has this erasure grown, that even those who want to use images of Orthodox women or families cannot, as they simply don’t exist. To change this reality, Chochmat Nashim, which champions religious women’s rights, launched a series of photoshoots to create the first stock photo site with high quality images highlighting Orthodox women and girls for use in the media and business and nonprofit worlds.
Over 200 individuals volunteered their time to model and talents to photograph and create these images.
Others have donated their photos to be used. Please use these images to positively represent the Jewish community. And do visit our amazing photographers!
For questions or further information, or to donate your images to this bank, please write to info@chochmatnashim.org.
